The Al-Madinah Region Development Authority has launched the Madinah Buses project to provide frequent and public transportation services within Madinah during the holy month of Ramadan. The project operates with a fleet of nearly 200 modern buses and aims to transport individuals to the Prophet’s Mosque, Quba Mosque, and several stations in Madinah.
The transportation services target people who wish to attend the holy month’s activities, including Taraweeh prayer, Qiyam Al-Layl prayers, and other religious gatherings. Seven tracks have been set up to provide frequent transportation services to beneficiaries from and to the Prophet’s Mosque and Quba Mosque. The services begin at 3:00 p.m. and operate until an hour after the Taraweeh prayer.
The services are provided in the ten last days of Ramadan until half an hour after the Qiyam Al-Layl prayers. The Madinah Buses project’s services are available in six different locations, including the sports stadium, Durrat AlMadinah, Sayyid Al-Shuhada, Islamic University of Madinah, Al Khalidiyyah, and Shtayyeh neighborhood. The authority has also specified the seventh location to be the Aliat mall cars parking area to transport beneficiaries to Quba Mosque and back.
Moreover, the authority has set up 98 stations to provide public transportation services within the Madinah Buses project during Ramadan, which is specified via five tracks. The first track is the Haramain train — Prophet’s Mosque, which includes three stations operating throughout the day to provide the service along the track. The second track is the Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport track — Prophet’s Mosque, which includes two stations offering the service throughout the day.
The Taibah University — Aliat Mall track includes 34 stations operating from 3:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The Miqat — Al Khalidiyyah track includes 38 stations and works from 3:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The fifth track is the Qaswaa — Sayyid Al-Shuhada track, which includes 21 stations operating from 3:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
